Advent by Candlelight

Advent by Candlelight  is an enchanting evening as we gather together  - in joyful anticipation - to celebrate the coming of the Messiah.  The Quigley is transformed into a candlelight wonderland, complete with an inspirational speaker, live music, and delicious food and drinks.
 
Each year, in early December, you are encouraged to invite friends and family to make up a table of 8 to 10. Ladies decorate their table with an Advent theme with lots of candles for lighting (just like at home.)  Each table will be asked provide

• wine for your own table.
• guests provide a home-made holiday dessert to serve 12-24
• guests provide hors d'oeuvres to serve 8-10, shared with own table guests
• desserts will be placed on the buffet table for all to enjoy

• determines table guests and completes registration by a specified date..
• Submits payment for ENTIRE table at the time registration form is submitted.  Collect from guests as you so desire.
• decide table theme and decorate on own or with her table team
• ask/assign two table guests to bring hors d’oeuvre for your table
• ask/assign two table guests to bring a dessert to share with the community
• provide appropriate number of place settings (plates, napkins, silverware, wine and water glasses, coffee cups/saucers, water carafe)
• tables are round and will be covered with black tablecloth
• don’t forget candles (Please try to use dripless so not to get wax on the table cloth)
• decorating will take place at between 3:30pm to 5:30 pm
• be creative..have fun!  Advent wreaths, nativity sets, fresh flowers, crosses, angels are some ideas. 

• bring enough wine to last your table for 2 hours
• you can decide or ask table team what they prefer  (white? red? both)
• bring wine bottle opener and chiller

• provide finger food servings please
• can be homemade or store bought—make your favorite holiday finger food (mini quiches, crostini, skewers are some ideas)
• plate your hors d'oeuvre on platter/stand as it will be passed and served at your own table
• bring  hors d’oeuvre that evening and take to your assigned table

• provide homemade, holiday dessert, enough to serve 12-24 people.  Cookies, pies, cakes cupcakes, special holiday dessert…anything festive
• Bring your dessert CUT (if cake or pie) and on a DISPOSABLE serving platter.
• Drop off dessert before 4:30 pm so we can set up the buffet

• will be from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the Quigley
• all tables must be decorated by 5:45 pm
• round tables will be used to seat 8.  Nine and ten are options, also
• tables will be covered with black tablecloth
