Holy Trinity Parish works in partnership with families as they journey with their child toward the first reception of this sacrament.
First Reconciliation usually occurs with a child in second grade before they make their First Eucharist. Those preparing for sacraments are expected to participate in a formal faith formation program (CGS, Catholic School, GIFT, Home Study, or other.) Sacrament preparation is in addition to on-going faith formation. It includes several parent/child sessions and working through materials at home.
Due to the current pandemic, Holy Trinity has delayed the usual 1st Reconciliation schedule. Rather than starting in the fall, we are beginning in early 2021. We will still have time to prepare and celebrate 1st Communion after Easter. We hope this delay allows families time to adjust to the new school year and structure.
If you are interested in registering your child for 1st Reconciliation, please contact Kathleen Willis at 913-895-0607 or kwillis@htlenexa.org
