The Catholic Church considers the Mass the greatest possible prayer of intercession. It is a longstanding tradition in the Church that its priests may be requested to offer a Mass for a specific intention, whether that intention be offered for the repose of a loved one's soul or for a specific person or their intention.
In this tradition, the faithful make a free will offering, called a stipend, in order to apply the Mass to a specific intention. The usual stipend is $10 per requested Mass as suggested by the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. By making this offering, the faithful - through their own offering - associate themselves more intimately with Christ.
Masses are celebrated at least twice each day at Holy Trinity with a special intention. Please note that one Mass each weekend is reserved at the discretion of Father Mike and offered for the people of the Parish.
If you'd like to offer a Mass in honor of - or in memory of - a loved one, please stop into the Parish Office (8 AM to 4PM weekdays, 9150 Pflumm Road) and one of our staff members will be happy to assist you. Due to the logistics and difficulty involved, we cannot accept Mass requests for specific dates. Once you've made your request, please watch the Bulletin each weekend for Mass intentions for the upcoming week.
