As the director of music at Holy Trinity Parish, Chloë's role is to plan music for Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses plus special seasonal and sacramental celebrations, to conduct the Holy Trinity Chorale, and to serve as principal organist for parish weddings and funerals. In addition, she is responsible for collaborating with the clergy, staff, cantors, keyboardists, and other ensemble directors of the parish, and for administering music program details related to the above liturgies.
Chloë grew up on a wooded acreage in southeast Iowa. Her love of nature was nurtured by her parents, who taught her and her two older brothers the fine arts of morel mushroom hunting and wild berry picking (not to mention cooking and eating the same). She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Piano from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. She then went on to earn her Master's in Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her Master's in Theology/Liturgy from the University of Notre Dame. While working in the Iowa-Illinois Quad Cities as a music teacher and church musician, she earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa.
Chloë lives with Julian (female red tabby Maine Coon kitty) and Ammi (male grey tabby shorthaired kitty), and in addition to her first love-music-enjoys riding her bicycle, walking in the woods, swimming, sewing, and reading. She is delighted to be serving with Holy Trinity's dedicated and enthusiastic music ministers, and looks forward to building many positive relationships through shared music making.
