Scott Merfen was hired in 2016 to lead Holy Trinity School as its principal. He is responsible for 625 students and over 50 staff members. Scott has more than 20 years’ experience in education including 11 in administration as a building principal in the Shawnee Mission School District. He taught in an elementary classroom, coached wrestling at the high school level and has been involved in several educational foundations including serving as board president for Wildwood Outdoor Education Center.
Scott is married to his wife Nicki and together they have 5 children who attend school in his home parish, Holy Spirit. Scott is active as a Knight of Columbus, has been Lay Director for his Christ Renews His Parish Ministry and currently coaches several youth sports for his children.
Scott’s vision for Holy Trinity Catholic School is to continue to provide families a traditionally rich, positive and caring educational experience, all while living out Christ’s teachings.
