We welcome you and rejoice in the baptism of your child at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Baptism is a precious gift given to us by God through the Church. It is natural that parents would wish to pass this gift on to their children as soon as possible. You will also find several helpful links and documents below.

Our Infant Baptism Preparation Process is for first time parents and those who haven’t attended a class in the past 5 years.

Our process consists of five parts:

1. Fill out our Baptism Inquiry Form below. 
2. An initial meeting with a member of our formation team (for first time parents) Please allow 45 minutes for this initial meeting. While we will complete the necessary paperwork, it is a wonderful opportunity for a member of our formation team to connect with parishioners. It is also an excellent time for you to ask any questions you may have and to discuss any special circumstances surrounding your child's baptism. Meetings can be scheduled during the day or evening to allow for individual’s work schedules. Contact Elyssa Bradfield at 895-0673 to schedule the initial meeting.
3. Attend one baptism class These classes are held twice a month – typically, the first Saturday morning at 9:00 AM and the third Monday evening at 7:00 PM– and are 90 minutes long. In the class, you will have the opportunity to meet other couples preparing for baptism. Together, we will reflect on the signs of baptism. Through the signs and the words of the rite, we will deepen our appreciation of the richness and significance of this sacrament. 4. Select Godparents (See FAQs below). Godparents need to turn in a completed Godparent Form to the parish office.
5. Schedule the Baptism Contact Elyssa Bradfield 913-895-0673 to schedule the baptism. Baptisms are typically celebrated each Sunday after the 11:30 am Mass. We are also offering Baptisms on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month after the 4:00 pm Mass. Baptisms are scheduled after the completion of the baptism process. We request you contact us after you have selected your child’s Godparents and before you make flight arrangements for traveling friends and family members.

Infant baptism is a sign of God’s desire to give us “more than all we can ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20). Obviously, the tiny baby cannot ask for or even imagine the richness of new life in God. It is a gift, one so precious that, by its very nature, it calls for a response. In the case of infant baptism, the immediate response of joy, gratitude and commitment is offered by the parents, the godparents and the entire Christian community. We, as Church, believe it is our duty to offer you, as parents, the opportunity to fully understand the commitment you are undertaking for your child and yourselves through the Sacrament of Baptism. It is our sincerest hope that you find the baptism preparation process meaningful and that it puts you into a more relaxed and prayerful state of mind as the baptism day approaches.
